You'll explore practical focus strategies, calendar and task management systems, email organization, and how AI can serve as a personal coach to help students break down overwhelming projects and actually follow through.

You'll walk away knowing which tools and strategies to explore and recommend based on a student's specific challenges — and how to help them build habits that stick.

Session 2: Smarter Notes, Better Study Skills, and AI-Powered Learning

One of the biggest revelations in this course: students already own devices that can record, transcribe, summarize, and help them study — and most have never been shown how. We match note-taking approaches to different learning profiles and challenges, covering typed, handwritten, and audio-based solutions. We also explore how AI is transforming the way students interact with their notes — turning passive review into active, personalized learning.

You'll walk away with a practical framework for recommending note-taking solutions based on how a student learns, not just their diagnosis.

Session 3: Reading, Writing, Research, and the Reality of AI in College

This session ties it all together. We cover technology that supports reading comprehension and fluency, strategies for students who struggle to get ideas onto the page, and how research has changed in the age of AI. We close with the questions professionals and parents most need answered: What do colleges actually permit? How are AI policies varying — sometimes by department, and sometimes by individual instructor? And how do we help students use technology with confidence and integrity rather than fear?
